FortePiano Music studio offers a wide variety of instrumental lessons specializing in piano/keyboard and stringed instruments.
I strive to encourage the students playing by allowing them to express their creativity, unique musical talents, passion, and interests for both classical and contemporary music trends. I understand that each person is different, has their own individual learning habits and patterns, as well as their unique abilities and gifts. One of the crucial tasks of the studio is to build sight-reading skills and to equip students with the ability to discover music independently. All lessons encompass various aspects of becoming a musician such as music theory (learning notes and rhythmic structures), developing and solidifying playing techniques, music history, and understanding and appreciating different styles of music.
At my location I have two pianos, a harpisichord, and cello for use with instruction which are located in the rear of the house. Also situated in that room are chairs for parents to wait or listen-in on lesson times as well.
- Piano - I use mainly the Alfred method of piano instruction which is a step by step, level by level approach to introducing students to the basics of piano playing. Supplemental materials also play a crucial role in learning.
- Stringed instruments - I use Essentials for Strings method which is much like the Alfred in structure and style yet geared toward proper physical technique for the student which is paramount.
